What is Stocka?
Stocka is a business operating system being built for South Africa's independent businesses — tuckshops, spazas, kota businesses, taverns, salons, car washes and more. It helps you sell, track stock, manage expenses and understand your business, all from one app.
When does Stocka launch?
We're preparing for launch and selecting our first 500 participating businesses now. Founding 500 applicants get early access ahead of the general public launch.
What is the Founding 500?
We're selecting 500 South African independent businesses to receive up to 6 months of free Stocka access while actively participating in the programme — using it to run real sales, restock and give us feedback that shapes the product.
Do I need special equipment?
No. Stocka is being built to work on the devices you already have — your phone, tablet or desktop. No special hardware is required to get started.
Can I scan products?
Yes. Stocka is barcode-first — scan a barcode with your phone camera to add or sell a product quickly.
What if an item has no barcode?
You can add products, prepared items and services manually with your own name, price and stock level — no barcode required.
Can Stocka scan supplier slips?
Supplier slip scanning is being built. It will let you photograph a supplier slip so Stocka can help capture what you bought, where and at what cost, to speed up restocking.
Does Stocka work offline?
Yes. Stocka is being built offline-first so your essential selling workflows keep running through poor connectivity, then sync automatically when you're back online.
What happens if a cashier makes a mistake?
Stocka is being built with safe corrections — voiding, correcting or refunding a transaction while preserving a proper audit history, so nothing just quietly disappears.
How much will Stocka cost?
Founding 500 businesses get up to 6 months free while participating. After that, we're planning a simple monthly subscription. Final launch pricing may change before public release.
